Eupatorium anomalum L.

Distinguishing Features: The name Eupatorium anomalum is a potential source of confusion. The traditional interpretation of the name applies it to plants that are apomictic derivatives of crossing between E. mohrii and E. serotinum. However, there are plants of similar morphology that are derivatives of crosses between E. mohrii and E. semiserratum, and the type of E. anomalum comes from an area where the latter combination is more likely to occur.

Habitat:

Geographic Distribution : .

Similar Species: Eupatorium mohrii usually has narrower, recurved leaves.

Molecular Data : samples of E. anomalum (DNA #s ) exhibit a characteristic "echo" pattern in ITS sequence that reflects indel polymorphisms from its progenitors, E. mohrii and either E. semiserratum or E. serotinum.
