Evidence from ITS sequence data for the origin of Eupatorium godfreyanum as a derivative of E. rotundifolium/E. sessilifolium.  Note the “stutter” effect in the E. godfreyanum sample where there is a poly-T of 5 bp in E. rotundifolium and of 4 bp in E. sessilifolium; note also the bp polymorphism (orange arrow); the peak from E. sessilifolium (G) is higher than that from E. rotundifolium (A), which may a reflect a higher genomic contribution from E. sessilifolium to the triploid allopolyploid.
